I am a Scottish businessman who is based in Russia.

I moved to Russia over 5 years ago for many reasons. None of which I had included in any of my plans. But if somebody had told me 10 years I ago I would be married with a family and living in Russia, I would have told them to stop talking nonsense!!

I enjoy playing sports, espcially football, golf and badmington. I also enjoy coaching football as it is a great way to remain active in sport as your playing days dwindle with age. I finder harder and more of a struggle to recover after sport now. The mind is willing but the body keeps saying, “get lost”.

I like music of many different genres and enjoy playing the guitar and doing a bit of producing. Music has always played a big part in life and has left me with some wonderful memories. It has also got my in trouble as well, but I will elaborate on these incidents in later blogs.

The reason for my blog is to allow me to share my experiences, my life in Russia and to answer (if possible) any questions about life in Russia. But please remember that Russia is a crazy and strange place that is very different from any other place that I have lived or visited!!!
